"Review for State Farm At first, I was very happy with State Farm. However, my experience drastically changed after I purchased a life insurance policy. Before signing up, I asked many detailed questions to ensure the policy would meet my needs. Unfortunately, after enrolling, the terms and service were not what I was led to believe. Canceling the policy was extremely difficult, and I ended up losing approximately $1,000 with no refund, despite being misled. In addition, I signed up for a paperless auto insurance policy because I have limited time to check physical mail. I made it very clear that I preferred and expected communication and notifications to be sent electronically. Despite this, communication was almost nonexistent. I was later involved in a car accident and, although I had been making partial monthly payments toward my premium (which should have kept some level of coverage active according to typical industry standards), State Farm denied my coverage. I was left to cover car payments, insurance payments, rental costs, and tow truck fees all out of my own pocket, with zero assistance from State Farm. It has now been over three months, and I am still financially and mentally drained dealing with this situation. I have documentation of all communications, payments, and policy agreements, including my request for paperless correspondence, which were not honored. I am posting this review to hold State Farm accountable until this situation is resolved properly. Customers deserve transparency, honesty, and respect — especially when it involves important financial and legal protections like insurance. Updated 4 Following my initial concerns with State Farm, I want to acknowledge the exceptional support I've received from Shelley in the life insurance department. Her proactive communication and assistance have been instrumental in navigating the complexities of my situation. However, challenges persist with the auto insurance side. After an accident involving my Tesla during rainy conditions, I discovered that my coverage had lapsed without prior notification, despite making regular payments. This oversight has led to significant out-of-pocket expenses and ongoing financial strain. I appreciate the efforts made thus far and remain hopeful for a comprehensive resolution. I will continue to update this review as developments occur. Update 5 I want to acknowledge the exceptional support I've received from Shelley in the life insurance department at State Farm. Her proactive communication and assistance have been instrumental in resolving issues promptly. However, my experience with the auto insurance department has been disappointing. Following an accident nearly four months ago, I've incurred over $10,660 in out-of-pocket expenses, including ongoing car payments, insurance premiums for a vehicle that's not in use, rental fees, and towing costs. Despite regular payments, I was unaware that my coverage had lapsed due to a lack of notification, which has added to the financial strain. I'm grateful that no one else was involved in the accident and remain hopeful that State Farm will address these concerns promptly."

I have verified that State Farm did send you the refund on the life insurance that you decided to cancel after the policy had issued. We are showing a check uncashed. If you can confirm this one was never received, we can have it re-issued from corporate as it comes from them not our local office. I know you worked directly with our claim's department on your claim for the most recent accident and based on notes from corporate that resulted in not being covered due to the policy cancelling for non-payment. I know they shared with you the correspondence sent prior to the cancellation and following through text, email, and mail. My local office takes it a step further in reaching out as we did and shared with you prior to the cancellation. We are available and willing to connect you to our claim's department if you need anything further or have anything further to add. I can say with my history being with State Farm since 2007, that we will do everything in our power to pay a claim if we can validate that the coverage was there. "
